On August 5th, 1995 Rhonda and I paid a visit to Featherdale. We were looking forward to this trip because it was going to be our first opportunity to see many of the Australian animals. It was only 4 train stops from our place.

One of the reasons why we really wanted to go to Featherdale because in the brochures it mentioned that we would get the opportunity to hold a koala. Sure enough, we got our chance.

We were able to hold on to this little guy. They have the young koala holding onto a stuffed koala (I guess it thinks it is a parent). That way the koala doesn't try to grab everyone that gets their picture taken with him. Another good thing about that is koala's have very sharp claws.
