Ayers Rock - And who says size doesnt matter?

That white strip on the rock is a CLOUD!

Ayers Rock, in the middle of Australia is a neat place to visit... All desert and then this huge rock - one solid piece - appears right there.

Legends say that this place is where all life began.

Today its a really really expensive tourist trap... All the hotels are owned by 1 corporation that has the prices of EVERYTHING cranked right up. We slept in our rented jeep that night rather than pay the huge hotel bill for a shitty room. Hmm... before you try this keep in mind that the desert gets down to freezing at night. So bring a blanket! You might end up waking up in the middle of the night with your arms frozen to your sides to turn the car on to get the heat going - or was that just us!

When we went to the rock that day it was very overcast and rainy. Clouds were very low and the our plans to climb the rock were foiled... They close the walking trail up to the top (for safety reasons) because it gets very slippery... When we arrived it had just started to rain and people were sliding down pretty rapidly on their ass. Travelling at any speed on my ass is not my opinion of a good time. That did not look comfortable... I laughed a little (because it wasnt me).

So onto the other thing I wanted to do in the centre of Australia. I decided to feed the dingoes - but wait.

Well wasnt my trip COMPLETELY spoiled... I had planned on naming a piece of bread "My baby" just so I could say "A dingo stole my baby." But no such luck. Damn.
